When you say used, do you mean scratched up, badly worn, cracked?

Scratched = you may be able to salvage it by using the recommended car polish trick to rub it out enough to read/backup.

Badly worn= You may be able to contact the manufacture and request a new disk in exchange for the old one.

Cracked= same as badly worn.
