You did the correct thing when you typed the additional "code" into the Poperties of the MAX PAYNE short cut, apart from like someone prior to me has said you included ' for no apparent reason:

you have installed it more than once and not completely removed it...you have to edit your registry and get rid :D otherwise no go :D once removed completely you can re install! hope this helps!!!

update your graphics card drivers from where ur graphics card is from...and make sure that your graphics card is chosen by MOHAA! u dont need a NO-CD patch..thus why are you here ??

i presume he means : what other software/upgrades had you installed that may contain extra drivers/files that may have changed things, have you changed the drive to not read the CD's as CD-r's ???...

Possible Problems
Was it the same CD which at first it wouldnt copy on. if so might be possible problem with the cd ? (out-of-date ?) there may be some problems with the file you downloaded...have you tryed cracking...

Alternative TO Blind Writing
Alternatively you can use an ISO program such as "WinISO" to copy the contents into an ISO then use EasyCD Creator (par example :) ) to then burn to cd....hey presto done in no time!!!
