cheers m8 seeing that command line on the screen sorted me out.i printed out my self boot tutorial and have mistaken that lower case L for a number 1. ha ha....

wonder if you can give me a quick fix for this little problem. got a dodgy copy of coasterworks its a selfbooter (when i stick it in the dc it freezes at the echelon screen)all the files are on the cd though.thought i could take the files off and selfboot it but theres no ip.bin. what can i do ?

noticed that the ip.bin has disapeared on the selfbooters ive just created.

What do you mean "Difficult for newbies"? I'm a newbie and it took me a total of one day of reading and scrounging up the progs I needed.

One tip - if you can't get a functional NON-Boot game using CDR-WIN or FireBurner, don't even try. Instead, run BIN2ISO.EXE to convert the BIN file to an ISO, then burn the ISO using an ISO compatible burner program. Once you get the disc burned using the .ISO file, following the Echelon SELF-BOOT instructions is a piece of cake. Just be sure all files it requires are already on your hard drive and instead of using the CDRWIN instructions, use CDRECORD instructions.

Good Luck.

Although I don't have an answer as to how to fix it, I can tell you why the IP.BIN disappears when you make a self-boot. You don't copy the IP.BIN to the data directory, but rather keep in the selfboot directory. Since it's not in the data directory and that's where mkisofs.exe gets the data from, it would obviously be missing. I wonder what would happen if you leave that IP.BIN in the data directory (unpatched for selfboot). Wonder if that would FUBAR the selfboot if you still copied it to the SELFBOOT directory and patched it and followed the rest of the instructions, but you just didn't delete the file from SELFBOOT\DATA ... Inquiring minds want to know.

Hi Time, (THERE IS A QUICK FIX)

I had exactly the same thing with coaster works, but there IS a solution. I am going to read your mind and bet you are using a scart lead, all you have to do is plug in your original RGB lead and the game boots fine. We will have to wait for a patch probably before we can again use our scart leads.

yeh unplugged me scart lead last night after reading some of the previous posts and me coaster works booted no problem.

but still, would like to no about that missin ip.bin as i have a few more dodgy selfbooters that id like to fix.
waynes idea seems worth havin a crack at to see if when makin a selfbooter you can still keep an accessible ip.bin file on your cd by havin 2 copys of the ip.bin 1 in the data folder and 1 in the selfboot directory-ready for patchin to the iso.
unfortunately i wanna fix a not workin selfbooter without ip.bin though.
is there an ip.bin creator out there that i could use to fix these dodgy selfbooters?
