I don't know, the fact is that I've installed Spore in spanish and it starts in english, as theres no language value in registry and EA didn't give me a solution I decided to find my own so I delete all language folders in Spore\Data\Locale keeping only en-gb an then I copied in there the content on es-es folder, to make it easier I kept english folder with spanish files, this is NOT a "warez" issue since I own a legal copy of Spore, so if you're installing the game in other language than english, be shure it starts with the right one.. Some Antivirus detects unarc.exe as a suspicious file an then they delete it (in my case, Avast!) , dont worry it's a false positive, deactivate your antivirus for a while before decompressing Spore CIU.rar I know compiling scripts is not a usual practice this days so I'll anticipate and give you the answers to possible questions thay may come up: Q:There's no Autorun.exe file A:You don't need it, Setup.dll is there Q:There's no Setup.exe file A:It will be there after you compile InstallerScript.iss Q:Setup.cab is password protected and I can't modify anything A:Thats right, you can't (but feel free to make any suggestions) This conversions also works for Spore with no expansion, you just got to delete Galactic adventures reg entries and then follow the same steps Since this game uses a serial number you need to have Inno Setup Unicode Installed (mine is 5.5.3(u)) 1.- Install Spore and Galactic Adventures, do it in the default installation directory ( X:\Electronic Arts\SPORE for the game and X:\Electronic Arts\SPORE_BP1 for the expansion) and test everything works fine 2.- Download and extract both attachments (as always, NOT in the game folder) 3.- Open Spore CIU folder and edit InstallerScript.iss with Inno, and insert your serials in the right place (red Xs must be deleted of course!) Code:
Root: HKLM; SubKey: "SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\SPORE(TM)\ergc"; ValueName: @; ValueData: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX; ValueType: string; Flags: UninsDeleteKey; and Root: HKLM; SubKey: "SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\SPORE(TM) Galactic Adventures\ergc"; ValueName: @; ValueData: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX; ValueType: string; Flags: UninsDeleteKey; also replace The players's folder name to match your language (ie: "My Spore Creations" for english version) Code:
SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\SPORE"; ValueName: PlayerDir; ValueData: "Mis Creaciones Spore"; ValueType: string; Flags: UninsDeleteKey 5.- When finished copy/move Setup.cab, Setup.exe, Setup.dll and Setup.ini to SPORE_1xDVD5 inside Spore comp folder 6.- Move Uninstall Files from game's folder to any folder (remember to put them back in place after compression or you won't be able to uninstall the game) 7.- Now, compression!, open Spore comp folder and run compress.bat 8.- When asked for the game's installation directory use the path where the game's folder is, not the full path (ie: x:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts instead of x:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts\SPORE thats because the game folder itself it's going to be compressed 9.-Hit Enter and wait (30-40 min), when finished Look for Data1.cab and Data2.cab files inside SPORE_1xDVD Folder, 10.- Copy DX9Redist folder from DVD9 Support to SPORE_1xDVD Support and rename it DirectX (I've included VCredist). We're done! 11.- Make Iso with SPORE_1xDVD content and test before you burn 12.-If there's any issues please report them, I've only tested it in W7 64bits EDIT: Uploaded new script including Creepy & Cute Parts Pack reg entries, if you have this pack installed, just replace InstallerScript.iss for this one, the steps are the same since this pack installs in the same folder of Galactic Adventures. EDIT2: Compressor reuploaded, folder renamed. (Thanks KaktoR!) EDIT3: Corrected reg entries in Cute & Creepy parts file, Thanks to KaktoR...Again!
