Kane & Lynch Collection 2xDVD5 *CIU 2.0.2*

Based on: CIU 2.0.2 by yener90
Compression method by: peterf1999 and Fabioddq
Art: found online and ingame
Icon: myself
Music: Couple of songs from the game OST by Jesper Kyd
Tested on: Win7 Home Premium 64bit and Win7 Ultimate 32bit

NOTE
Please bear in mind that I haven't tested the conversion fully, because of lack of time, but all should work. If not, please let me know. Hell, let me know if it works also :ii: It would be nice to hear you feedback. Also, installer doesn't support redists, so you can put them all wherever you want.

P.S.
This is only for one language only, English in my case. You'll need to change the .lst files for your language

1. Install the games and extract attachment somewhere on your computer, NOT in the game installation directory
2. Make one folder on your computer, name it whatever you like, create 2 folders in it and name them: Kane and Lynch and Kane and Lynch 2. Now move files from your installation directories to the appropriate newly created folders.
3. Delete all unwanted language files from game folders (there are also some movies in movies folder of Kane & Lynch which seems to be only trailers and not really used by the game, but I didn't delete them. You can save about 500 MB's of space by deleting them, but I haven't tried it out)
3. Start Compress.bat, enter path of your folder containing both games, wait for it to compile
4. Make ISO file and test before burning

Yep you're certainly putting out some nice work Namelessone and keeping me under pressure to keep the Index updated.

If i put the Redist folder containing all needed software, how do i make it so that it will run/install automatically after the main installation finished?

read again.... Also, installer doesn't support redists, so you can put them all wherever you want.

which means you have to install them manually afterwards from whatever dvd you put them on.

Yup i know that I have to install it manually. Guess there aren't any trick possible for automatic installation of additional software.

Thank you pakrat2k2.

Thank you pakrat2k2.

Only really redist software you need is GFW, and it's in case you have the old versions like me. Steam versions don' need it. All other software (DirectX, etc.) are usually parts of Windows so there's really no need for them. You can make separate setup.ini and put it along with your setup.exe if you want. Just make sure you get the paths right

Code:
[LauncherSettings]
InstallRedist=1

[Launch1]
Name=DirectX
32Exe={src}\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe
Argument=/silent
BeforeInstall=0

[Launch2]
Name=Games for Windows® - LIVE
32Exe={src}\support\Gfwlivesetup35.exe
Argument=/q /nu /norestart
BeforeInstall=0

I think I know what's the problem. Please copy srep.exe from any conversion or download it from the Internet to the folder where you've extracted conversion files.

Okay. Will try that and report here. Thanks for the suggestion NamelessOne.

UPDATE:
----------
* Yes have to copy srep.exe to the extracted conversion files folder.
* Found out the actual reason behind this error. It seems compress.bat can't read those "&" in the script.

* Changed all the '&' with 'n' and conversion works without error. Also need to change folders name to KnL_1 and KnL_1 before run conversion.

DVD1 : 4.32GB (Incl. Redist Folder)
DVD2 : 4.30GB

ISO tested without any error. Redist software works well too. Game works fine on Win7 Professional x64.

Thanks NamelessOne & pakrat2k2 !

Yener's CIUv2 is a 'Closed Source'. It was released to a very few 'trusted' users and is not for the 'General Public'.
Be happy with what you have and what gets created by the 'trusted' users.

NamelessOne,

I have F01 to F09 in my Scenes/Location folder of Kane & Lynch 2 folder.

I noticed that they are not included in the conversion. Could I ask why they are not and what the folders are for?

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, those are multiplayer related folders and there's no need for them, unless you want to play it You can add them, but I'm not sure if they'll fit on 2xDVD5. These games are not too much compress friendly

The game won't fit into 2xDVD5 if F01-F09 folders is included in either data3.cab or data4.cab.

Tried including those folders in data3.cab and compressed using highest compression command but still didn't fit into 2xDVD5.
