Thief (3x DVD5) *USMs resampling*

Thief
(3x DVD5)

1) Install the game

2) Extract 'THIEF_3xDVD5.7z.001 ... THIEF_3xDVD5.7z.006' contents (not in game folder)

3) Launch Compress.bat & wait...

4) Burn or make isos with label names of your choice

Note:
Four USM videos are resampled to bitrate ~60-65% of original ones.
You must have patch v1.2 or later installed.
The default conversion is for english language, with few changes
can be adapted to the language of your choice:

e.g:
Open arc.cl with text editor and then edit the row as follow for italian language:

from
Code:
-ep-- -lc- -w.\ -s; -msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d180m:fb273:mc10000:lc8#ThiefGame\CookedPCNG\English(US)\*#Data6.bin#Disk3

to
Code:
-ep-- -lc- -w.\ -s; -msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d180m:fb273:mc10000:lc8#ThiefGame\CookedPCNG\Italian\*#Data6.bin#Disk3

The integrity of archives is ok, use 7-zip to extract the files.

I used Verbatim dvd-r and it fits on DVD5.

Anyway, you can increment the amount of compression memory to gain more free room:
Code:
-ep-- -r -lc- -w.\ -s; -msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d180m:fb273:mc10000:lc8#@Data5.lst#Data5.bin#Disk3

-ep-- -lc- -w.\ -s; -msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d180m:fb273:mc10000:lc8#ThiefGame\Movies\PC\*#Data7.bin#Disk3
Code:
-ep-- -r -lc- -w.\ -s; -msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d210m:fb273:mc10000:lc8#@Data5.lst#Data5.bin#Disk3
-ep-- -lc- -w.\ -s; -msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d210m:fb273:mc10000:lc8#ThiefGame\CookedPCNG\English(US)\*#Data6.bin#Disk3

A 32 bit version of windows can't execute a 64 bit exe, so it's useless to create a 64 bit shortcuts on 32 bit installation.

Hi peterf , thanks for the conversion.
I have a problem, my DVD1 is 4.43 gb.

DVD1 4.43 gb
DVD2 4.36 gb
DVD 4.37 gb

The game is updated at 1.2 version, I chose the english language.

I think the problem is common redist folder. In the installation game folder there are a _commonredist folder that is 116 mb. This folder is also present in Disk 1 after conversion; Disk 1 size without it is 4.31 gb.
I need maybe to delete this folder from installation game folder and re-run the conversion? Or delete it from Disk1?
Another question, the subtitles in other language were keep after conversion?
