how to create setup.cab for yener90's installer

i unwrar the setup.cab from one of the conversions based on yener90's installer.
i replaced the neccessary files according to my setup.

i repack the setup with winrar into setup.rar
and then rename it into setup.cab

but when i install , the setup did not pick up files from setup.cab

i repeat same with freearc but same failure.


is there any way to solve this issue.

Try use zip.

you use freearc & set your archive type to zip. change the name to setup.cab.

make sure you are archiving the contents of the setup folder not just the main folder ( you will have the autorun, background, setup subfolders as well as your font & music files. IF you used precomp/srep it will also need the arc.ini file.

see screenshot for example, ( its the extracted contents of a setup.cab file.)

i select files inside setup (setup.cab file's extracted folder) and compress it with winzip (no compressions) and then rename it into setup.cab

It works
