Max Payne 3 - 4 DVD9 to 7 DVD5 *Installshield*

Note: I DO NOT respond to support/help about the program in (PM) private messages, use on of my threads for that. Anything else is okay.

I found a solution to splitting the NEW CAB file format (version 16 and newer).

I can be used on other games, but seems to be problems with some version 15 format games,
for version 15 i recommend using the old ISCAB.exe version NOT in my files.

Requirements:
60GB workspace
Framework .NET 2.0
time

1. Copy all the content of DVD1 to a folder on your harddrive.
2. Copy all the Cab file(s) from DVD2-4 to the same folder as in step 1.
3. In the folder there should be data1.cab - data5.cab.
4. Download my attachment, and extract it to same folder.
5. Run the file "The_F1nal_Solution.exe" as Administrator.
6. Push the "Prepare files..." button, this will prepare the files for rebuilding.
ignore the "Generate list file..." button
7. Edit the prefered cab file size in the text box, and push "Edit layout.bin" button.
8. Push "Rebuild Cab file(s)" button to start the process, this will take sometime.

It is still possible to use the following if you want to do it manually

ISCAB.exe data1.cab -a -i"list.ini"

9. When done cleanup the folder with the "Cleanup" button.
10. It should now be possible to fit the game on 7 DVD5 discs.

Final result should look like this.

DVD1:

(all the files from Original DVD1, except the files just rebuild)

dataX.cab <-- where X is a number.
MaxPayne3.ico <-- Found on Original DVD2
Autorun.inf <-- Found on Original DVD2

DVD 7:

LANG_README <-- Folder,  Found on Original DVD4
Redistributables <-- Folder,  Found on Original DVD4
dataX.cab <-- where X should be the final cab file.
MaxPayne3.ico <-- Found on Original DVD4
Autorun.inf <-- Found on Original DVD4

Info about my program:

"Prepare files..."
Rename original layout.bin to layout.bin.original
Generate default layout.bin for cab resize.
Generate ISCAB list file to list.ini, with default ISCAB values.

"Generate List File..." 
Creates list with all the files included in the cab archive.
done with "ISCAB.exe data1.cab -l -i"list.ini"" 

"Edit layout.bin"
modifies layout.bin with a custom cab file size (done with editlayout.exe).

"Rebuild cab file(s)"
executes rebuild procedure (ISCAB.exe data1.cab -a -i"list.ini")

"Cleanup"
Deletes The_F1nal_Solution.exe, MediaBuild40.dll, list.ini, ISTools.dll, ISCAB.exe, EditLayout.exe

Thanks Problem Solved for Installed shield v.18.0.329 (2012) game repacking, great tool man, works on Win 7 x64 sp1, Some changes Yet to be made

1st mention to copy the layout.bin file to disk 1 otherwise its can't Recognised the data1.cab and asking to insert the disk

2nd After Disk 4 the changement to disk 5 it asking "Plz insert the Disk 0 that contains data6.cab" solve plz

i hope it will work with other games which have installed shield 2012 or later

what file size did you split the cab files?

Just tested again, with no problem like yours.

Sure you have done it correcly? i have added my DVD structure in the first thread

Nope i have done several time and every thing is works fine and i have made the udf image file, the installation is made from image file but at changement of disk 5 section it ask to insert the disc 0 as i mentioned earlier

what tool do you use to make the UDF files?

nero express,its not a tool fault i think to edit layout.bin file so that the conformation of next disk is asked by the installer

aaa, u have mention in section "9. When done cleanup the folder with the "Cleanup" button." the layout.bin with other file get deleted so i have to used the original layout.bin file
