Serial Cable Ripping Problems

Ello,

I just received my cable for backing up my DC games. I followed the instructions for doing this, and everything goes fine. I use the bootdisk in the DC, upload the Dreamrip.srec file and start the macro running. But then I get a bunch of crap on the screen (control codes and stuff like that), and it just stops. The track file is created but empty. Any ideas? Here is a screenshot of what happens in Teraterm.

I'm in Scotland, using this thing. IS there something I'm missing with regards to termial setup or region perhaps?

Any help is appreciated, Cheers.

I set the alarm level as high as it would go and the target level at half the available ram

Eg: i have 256 mb of ram
alarm level 63 mb
target ram 128 mb
hope that helps

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot. The problem I'm having occurs right after it starts receiving the first file though (at the same place every time).

I'm sure either I'm doing something wrong or the cable isn't working. but if the cable weren't working, there wouldn't be any legible feedback from the DC. (Sorry.... was thinking out loud!)

I shall mess with it though. Any further help would be great.

I had exactly the same symtons and the above procedure worked for me.

also make sure you turn of any other programs running in the background like virus scanners etc.
