CD-REWRITABLE DISKS----DO THEY WORK???

I have recieved some back-up copys of some games.I copyed 1 onto a 'Imation' RECORDABLE disc.This worked fine.I was wasting alot of ####s so i brought some 'Imation' REWRITABLE disc's.I copyed the same game but when i put it in the dreamcast it didn't spin.Do they not work or am i just doing something wrong?? PLEASE HELP!!
