Battleforge PAK Files?

Hello,
i hope its the right sections to post this Question?

I wanted to know how i can open the .pak files from Battleforge? I dont find anything on web and i would have the soundfiles from Battleforge.

I think here are many good ppl and maybe someone know how to open/extract the .pak files from Battleforge.

Beware the .pak files cant be open with .zip/.rar or dragon unpacker! Always there is an error message to open.

I tried some other programs but always i get an error message!

Please if someone know how to open/extract the files let me know it.

(sorry for my english iam german)
-----------------
Hallo,

they're probably a custom format, most likely they're zlib compressed as well
you'd have to reverse engineer the file format, then code your own extractor most likely

There is no custom unpacker for battleforge. And if you did the card art is probably encrypted in some way also.

yup guy said that indeed, and that he couldn't give instructions because the program was in french, and he doesn't read french....

@chucky2910 - its a good idea to read the thread before calling some guy who gives the information 'stupid', because now.. .well.... now you look stupid

Nobody flamed you..

DU5 is easy to use, open a packed file and then DU5 will notice what it is and present a list of files, you then extract them.

And if you really read the thread you would have noticed an english language file you download also.

I checked the dates of when this was said on the other forum, its possible it only works for the demo? Rather than retail.

Or the original poster over at the forum, lied.

I did have the beta/demo of it installed but removed it 3 weeks ago, so cant check myself.

Not really cause if you have the Demo installed you only put your retail Key in and than you have the full version installed without any reinstalling or having the CD inside.

The guy at the other forum didnt lie, i could extract the picturefiles like the blank cards but i couldnt extract the soundfiles. HipperRipper found some mediafiles but my winamp cant play them getting error message. and a over 200MB pak file called "bf1_sound_de01.pak" must have more then 8 soundfiles i think cause the units have much more soundfiles ingame.

I think it would be a challange to decode these pak files from Battleforge or? Cause no one on web have an idea right now to extract it...

You got me interested. Can you strip the first, say, megabyte of one of those bigfiles containing sound files and upload it somewhere for me for some simple analysis?

The soundfiles are .669 format, google didnt want to say much about that soundformat...

Well the Dragon Unpacker - HipperRipper didnt find all files in the .pak files and this is my problem...

First screen: This is Dragon Unpacker after HipperRipper found this...
http://home.arcor.de/chucky2910/temp/soundfile_bf.jpg

Second screen: This is the .pak file...
http://home.arcor.de/chucky2910/temp/filedirect.jpg

I think the first challange would to enkrypt/extract the .pak files to see all files inside not only some, than i must look how i could convert the soundfiles to .mp3.

PS: Joe Forster/STA you can download the Battleforge Trail Version on offical Site where all .pak files are inside.

I downloaded the demo from http://www.battleforge.com/portal/si...rge/downloads/ and installed it. No PAK file is inside.
