xp sp2 color scheme

Hi guy's ive downloaded something "not sure what" but it has screwed my colors
up, i go to change it in the advanced appearance but it wont allow it so i want to replace the file that has the standard color settings for xp sp2,
does anyone know the name of this file ?

Sounds like your infected with a virus possibly and its screwed with your admin rights, so you cant change things easily. Forcing you to reinstall windows.

Themes are stored in x:\WINDOWS\RESOURCES\THEMES (x is the drive where you installed Windows) but the actual colors are somewhere in the registry.

Thanks guys but i couldnt fix it so i saved what i had to then dumped a very old Ghost image, back to normal now

Yeah sounds like the latest pest going around the net, infects you with various crap, takes over admin controls, cant use sfc, regedit etc, infects iexplorer.exe and explorer.exe and also forces dll loads on startup, unfortunately with explorer infected it restarts the process over and over and over.

There is a fix for it since the 19th I believe from microsoft to fix vulnerabilities in OE and IE.
