Codemasters removed Copyprot from Colin McRae DiRT

Patch 1.22 removes the Copyprot (Starforce) from the game.

The changelog says the patch issues problems with the dvd-check which is a kind of a nice way to say they removed the copy prot.

What you need to do is to download patch 1.2 (which is patch 1.21 in real) from codemasters website. Using the old 1.2 patch does not work. Then you download 1.22 Patch and install. It will only patch the exe file.

Code:
Scanning -> D:\Spiele\DiRT\DiRT.exe
File Type : Exe, Size : 8573440 (082D200h) Byte(s)
[Heuristics] -> Flag : 00000000000000000000010000000000
[!] File appears to have no protection or is using an unknown protection
- Scan Took : 0.469 Seconds
Removing the copy protection in my opinion is not making a gift to the customer but saving money in the support area of the company.
