why do mini-images never work for me?

Hello, its my first post in this forum, ive always been reading the forums so im not really new here, just first time posting.

well my problem is basically images and mini-images.

It started long ago with Star Wars Battlefront 2, which didnt have a crack for the 1.1 update, only mini-images, so i installed daemon tools latest version back then and used the suggested blocker by GCW, doing everything correctly i couldnt get the game to work, it always ended up detecting daemon tools, although trying it without the blocker resulted in a different message than with the blocker, still saying the same thing (emulation software detected) but in a different way, like it had a difference with the blocker on/off. I installed the game on my friend's computer and it worked for him with the blocker, i unninstalled everything on my pc and installed everything again exactly like i did on his pc and it didnt work.

I ended up ignoring this and buying the game since i was just testing the game to see if it was worth it. Last week I downloaded Sim City Societes for my friend (hes a huge sim city fan), which has a P4 2.4 512mb FX5200 and wasnt sure if the game would run, I tested it first on my computer to see if the file i downloaded was working, I installed the patches (i always do that to avoid those bugs which are present in the 1.0 version). latest version was (and still is) 1.2 and GCW has a mini-image for it, but no crack. I tried it and it detected daemon, since GCW doesnt suggest the use of any blocker (and i assume there are none that can block secuROM version present in sim city societes) but it suggests daemon 4.11, i updated my version to 4.11 (it was 4.10 before) properly, and tried it again with no sucess. I got a bit pissed off since if that mini-image was made its because it works, and it wasnt the first time an image that works on another computer didnt work on mine. But the game wasnt for me so i reinstalled with 1.1 version and tried with that.

Today I reinstalled splinter cell pandora tomorrow on my pc, because ill bring it to a lan party next week, i updated it and tried to run it (i own the original 3 disc version, I doesnt know why some people have a 4-disc version though) but it stayed for like 5 minutes trying to read the cd and ended up asking for the cd, i cleaned the cd, and tried again with no sucess. I looked for cracks but there were none for the 1.31 version, so I downloaded the mini-image, which i thought it was supposed to work because GCW doesnt suggest the use of any blocker and my daemon is way newer than the one back when the game was released. I couldnt run it with only daemon tools, i downloaded YASU 1.4.7080, prot.stop 1.1, SD4 blocker, CureROM, SD4 Hide 1.1, and none of them worked, they say they sucessfully hidden daemon but the game still detects it, i installed alcohol (in an ilegally way but it was just to test, this thing has pissed me off) and it still doesnt work (of course tried it with daemon completely disabled and tried the blockers too).

has anyone ever had a problem like this and found a solution? or is there anything im doing wrong or forgetting to do? are those images really supposed to work? is there any needed setting in windows or a service that should be running in order for it to work?

sorry for the long post, but this problem is really annoying me, i had to fill in some details because it works (at least SW BF2 did) on other computers but not on mine, and i dont think im doing anything wrong.
