Help with KAL Patch protection fix to Dino Crisis NTSC-U

Hey guys, I came for a little help.

So the thing is that I got a patch protection fix for Dino Crisis for PSX, and is a KAL patch, these are the files for the "fix"

- Apply.PFF.exe
- kal-dccf.exe
- kal-dccf.pff

And the instructions to patch them are to use DOS, and I can't find it, so a friend later told me that I must type cmd in the run option of the windows start menu.

And so I did, and a black window appeared, that's the DOS?? I remember it was different, so anyways, I read the instructions and follow them as they come in the *.nfo file... but I get a error mesasge that the kal-dccf.exe or the apply-pff.exe can't be recognized. and I'm so frustrated because I follow the instructions top notched.

These were the instructions:

PPF FORMAT:

1. Copy APPLYPPF.EXE and KAL-DCCF.PPF to the directory with your BIN+CUE of Dino Crisis USA
2. Get into an MS-DOS Prompt (A DOS Window from inside Win9x is fine)
3. Type the following: 'APPLYPPF.EXE KAL-DINO.BIN KAL-DCCF.PPF' (Replace
KAL-DINO.BIN with the name of your Dino Crisis BIN file if yours is named
differently)

4. Hit Enter and you are on your way!

DOS EXE FORMAT:
---------------

1. Copy KAL-DCCF.EXE to the directory with your BIN+CUE of Dino Crisis USA
2. Get into an MS-DOS Prompt (A DOS Window from inside Win9x is fine)
3. Type the following: 'KAL-DCCF.EXE KAL-DINO.BIN' (Replace KAL-DINO.BIN
with the name of your Dino Crisis BIN file if yours is named differently)
4. Hit Enter and you are on your way!

But I can't manage to patch the *.BIN file.

And I have another question too, I see that the zip file contained the *.PFF file, and my question is... this patch can be used with the PPF-O-Matic as well or using DOS is the only way?

that's because you have to navigate to the folder using DOS commands.

1. Copy your folder with the KAL PPF, EXE and image to the root of the C: drive (C. Rename the folder 'DC' (without the apostrophes).

2. Go to Start > Run and type CMD to open your DOS Prompt window.

3. Type 'CD..' (without the apostrophes) and hit Enter several times so that C:\ is displayed in the DOS window before your cursor.

4. Now, type 'CD DC' (without the apostrophes) and hit Enter. A new line should appear in the DOS window with 'C:\DC' before your cursor.

5. Now type the command given in the NFO for the patch and it should go through.

I just did it the way you told me but I can't make it work it says:

DC ( the folder with all the stuff ) is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

When I open the DOS it appears like this:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

C:\Documents and Settings\Dude>

And then I typed the stuff you said, but it always shows that message I said earlier.

So when I couldn't manage to patch it with DOS, I used the PPF-O-Matic and I patched the BIN file but when I burned it, the game didn't started, it freezes in black right after the playstation logo.

Is there any other way besides patching the file with DOS?

Sorry if I'm starting to be an annoyance, but I can't run my DC original disc or a backup DC on my PSone since 3 years ago.

Right after the message that says that the game contains gore and explicit violence, just after that a screen with a "Forbidden" sign appears and it just doesn't run.
