NHL07-Microsoft sidewinder gamepad problem help please

Hi,

I have a Microsoft sidewinder USB gamepad. It is fully recognized by windows and also in nhl07. The problem is, each time I try to save my personnalised buttons settings in the controller panel. I am unable to save them!!So when I get back to the panel (right after) or If I start a game ; it doesnt keep my settings!! So It is impossible to play, because there's even buttons missing in the default settings (no pass button assigned!!)

Does anybody know how to fix that problem??? Any help would be appreciated...

By the way, I never had such problem with NHL06...

Thanks!

Does it occur with the crack only? Have you updated all your drivers? Read the fourm FAQ.

The problem is that Microsoft had stopped the release of new drivers for this gamepad. Oh and yes I have a cracked version of NHL07 but I had a cracked version of NHL06 too and had no problem...

The problem besides the drivers is that Microscrap discontinued the Sidewinder line in 2003 and why werent any more drivers/updates Also if you have a joystick/gamepad that are ones that are digital with digital stick /buttons and not analogue can have problem with newer games. Newer ones only support analogue gamepad/joysticks a lot of times

Damn, so consequently, does that mean I have to throw my gamepad in the garbage?? Nobody knows a patch released to fix the problem by some users? (not Microsoft) I made a lot of research but didnt find anything worthy...

Hi

I had a similar problem with one of my Dualshock II converters and got this response from EA.

Hi Aidan,

Thank you for contacting us here at Electronic Arts Technical Support. I’m sorry for the difficulty that you are having with NHL 07. I understand that you're unable to play the game properly since the controller is not functioning as it should.

Unfortunately, only the supported gamepads are guaranteed to properly work with the game. If you're having issues with an unsupported gamepad, you may try contacting the controller manufacturer and check for any driver updates.

You may also want to click on the following link and see if this will help resolve the issue:
http://ea.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/cci/ea/controller_calibration.php?p_sid=%3c?%20echo%20$p_ sid%20?%3e

Although rare, it is possible that a program running in the background is interfering with proper controller usage.
Click here for instructions on ending your background tasks (http://ea.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/cci/ea/background_tasks.php?p_sid=%3c?%20echo%20$p_sid%20 ?%3e).

NHL 07 supports the following controllers:

Logitech

Cordless Rumblepad™ 2
Rumblepad™ 2 Vibration Feedback Gamepad
RumblePad™
Dual Action™ Gamepad
Cordless RumblePad™
Saitek

P3000 Wireless Pad and Docking Station

P880 Rumble Pad
Thrustmaster

Dual Trigger 2-in-1 Rumble Force
Rechargeable Wireless 2-in-1 Dual Trigger
2-in-1 Dual Trigger Gamepad
Wireless Dual Trigger Gamepad
FireStorm Dual Power 3
FireStorm Wireless Gamepad

I'm using an original Sony Playstation DualShock 2 controller with a USB converter. When I configure my controller for the game the settings are not saved so when I start the game again I have to re assign the controller buttons. I also have NHL2005 and use the same controller without problems. I also have a different native USB controller which also keeps the settings.

Please advise.
