JUST CAUSE adding a new resolution

Hi all,
Was wondering if anybody knows how to add a new resolution as I have a widescreen 19in monitor and JUST CAUSE only offers a few resolutions the better being 1280x1024 or 1600x1200....max my monitor will go is 1440x900 which I tried adding in the settings notepad in the game's program files...it allows me to change it and accepts but when i enter the game setup folder its gone again.

any ideas anyone ? it looks fine on 1280x1024 but would be nice to play it with the monitors native resolution.

cheers.
