Dreamcast won't play burnt games anymore

Ok, get this... 3 months ago I burnt three dreamcast titles and they worked perfect, and still do.. Well today I burnt 5 more games, and they worked perfect in my friends dreamcast, but mine won't even read them.. It just carries me to that dreamcast boot up screen and acts like its playing an audio CD.. I know I burnt the games right because they work fine in my friends console.. Anyone have any suggestions why they won't work in mine?

how much older is yours compared to your friends the answer might be that and the fact that your laser has maybe more hours in the field then his, if it is indeed a factor of time and a difference of strength (laser strength that is) you might reconsider the media that you used, on older systems (just like the playstation) you need to assure a good media and also a half decent burner.

I have the same problem too. My cousin burned me a utopia boot cd, game shark cdx and a jap version of sega tetris....they all used to work fine untill about a month ago.
I think that when we go online the DC automatically downloads a patch of some sort to prevent you from playing games on cdr's.

if a backup is not burnt properly and the laser searches for the tracks more than it should the laser works more then it should and will eventually burn it out, i had a guy yesterday come and see me about the same thing that you guys are complaining about and he had bought a replacement laser kit (under my advice) i did the work for him and he called me last night saying that everything is back to normal
