Hello,
I have created a program that allows to organize multiplayer game in simple and fast way. The program is much similar one to gamespy arcade, but it is free

About:

Project-MP is a software that allows to organize separated multiplayer, usable from whichever provider Internet, comprised the FastWeb customers. This new system allows therefore to use a normal software, than it can be downloaded in the section files of this situated one, without need of a cetralized server. All the lobbies (the games created from the players) will come monitorate and recorded in an appropriate section, call lobby, where the complete list of the created games will be able itself to be visualized and in this way every player will be able to participate and to chatting before taking part just to the true game. The plan is already in phase of development and comes used several technologies and languages of programming that converse from each other in dynamic way.

Install:

1. Download the last version available on the official site - http://project-mp.unigames.it/

2. Install the program

3. Click 2 times on the button "Avanti" (Next)

4. Under "Installa Project-MP in:" (Install Project-MP in, to choose the path where Project-MP is wanted to be installed. Then click 3 times on the button "Avanti" (Next)

5. Click on "Fine" (Finish) in order to finish the installation

Configuration:

1. To start Project-MP from link on "Start - > Programs - > Project-MP - > Project-MP". Then click on "Opzioni" (Option)

2. To set up the configuration like from figure (Set up own nickname and to insert just account on "Profilo Gamespy Arcade" (Profile Gamespy Arcade), if it is had a account gamespy arcade). It is a lot important to click on the button "Salva configurazione" (Save config), before exiting from the options

3. Then to select the tab "Giochi" (Games) on top and configure the path for the games. For example "Unreal Tournament 2004". I select game in the list and I click on button "Sfoglia..." (Browse...) and then I select the folder where there is the executable. Next I press on OK.

4. If one appears dulls green, it means that the game has been found and correctly configurated

5. Just it is believed to have config all can be closed the window of the options in order to return in the main menu

Host a game:

NOTE: when one is hosting game, it is before necessary to close the program!

1. Now it can to click on the button "Lobby WEB" in order to create or to join to one existing game. A message will appear that asks to us if the browser is wanted to be opened and the program will come closed. To press on the button "Si" (Yes) in order to open the browser; otherwise to click on this link: http://project-mp.unigames.it/lobby/

2. Click on "Crea Lobby" (Create lobby)

3. The program will come launch automatically and the server will be able to be setting

Descrizione = Description
Gioco = Game
Modalità = Mode
Altre Opzioni = Other Options
Max Utenti = Max Players
Tempo limite = Timelimit
Mappa= Map
Richiede una password per entrare = It required one password in order to join

Then to click on "Crea" (Create)

4. Just the other players are ready the game can begin. Click on the button "Lancia Partita" (Launch the Game) in order to start the server. All the players will come automatically connected to the server

5. When you exit from the game, click on this window in order to return in chat

Join a game:

1. In order to join in one game, to click on "Entra nella lobby" (Join lobby)

2. The program will come launch automatically and the player will come connected in the lobby

3. When the player or more players are ready, enough to check the cell "Pronto" (Ready) and the game he could be started from host

Isn't Gamespy Arcade as free as can be ? Never heard they'd actually want payment for their program. If so, it's a shame...dunno, I dont play MP games at all... nor did I play around w/ Gamespy since 4 years...

Well, if the publishers don't have to bother with coding their own software for this purpose, I'm sure they are happy to pay some of their income for Gamespy or other similar software and bundle that instead.

So the publishers pay for it whereas the enduser does not need to pay a single dollar...
That's... a good thing even tho I don't mess around with MP games

You think you don't pay for it when the publishers pay for it? C'mon, what sources of money do publishers have other than you?!

Well, they wouldn't sell the program 5$ less if they hadn't included Gamespy, would they ?
As if they were like, "Hey, we dont have Gamespy" "Hum, hard stuff, lets sell it for half the quid"...
It's just a marketing thingie noone would pay extra for, it just makes the publisher known and respected better by users...
