Question Alcohol 120%

Ok, I'm brand new to these forums and Alcohol 120%, and I believe this would be where to post on this sunbject. Now I own Battlefield 1942, and I downloaded the 30day trial of Alcohol 120%, but for some reason, I have yet to figure out how to be able to get Battlefield onto my computer so I wouldnt need a CD. What I do is insert the CD, start up Alcohol, go to Image Making Wizard, pick my drive with Battlefield 1942, and pick the SafeDisc 2/3 datatype (I believe that is what Battlefield uses). I click next, I pcik where I want the image to go, then I pick Media Descriptor Image file as the format. I click start, then once it gets started, it keeps saying "12:50:21 Disc Read Error at: 1443" then itll say "12:50:21 Disc Read Error at: 1485" and itll go on with numbers. The progress barr is slowly filling up at the top, but the drive is going at 0.2x when I picked maximum, and my disc drive is a fairly new Sony disc drive, so I would expect it to go faster. But what am I doing wrong?

Ok, I let it fully load, and now I have an MDS on my desktop. When I click the MDS, it brings up "Windows cannot open this file" and asks if I want to pick something to open it with, or use the internet to find the appropriate program. I take it I am doing something wrong?

Yes, you can expect read errors while reading copy protected CD's/DVD's. As for opening CD/DVD images, make sure to associate their extension with the proper software beforehands. (Enter Alcohol 120% and see around its options for the association settings.)
