No need to delete it but I will move it to the 'Chit Chat' forum.
And yes, I certainally think it is good news, if it is indeed true.

It's true!
Ubisoft officially confimed that they won't use Starforce in the future anymore. (Source: Gamestar.de)

Its all over my feeds... I'll say its official then... beside, the major losses suffered in 2004, when UbiSOft started to implement StarForce must have finally paid (us) off

With how much money UBISoft makes from PC Gaming, it probably cost them more to use Starforce. Very cost effective move, UBI, I salute you

Err, I can see how you took my comment the wrong way, so let me just write it another way.

With the LITTLE MONEY UBISoft makes from PC Gaming, it probably cost them more to use Starforce. Very cost effective move, UBI, I salute you

Much better!

Or, perhaps, they haven't become good guys this fast; they're only seeing that they might lose that 5 million USD suit or something against them and now are trying to find a cheaper solution: getting rid of the software that the class suit is about... Then UbiSoft is not being nice, only cost-effective.
