Myst 3 Exile

1) Create a Temp folder on your harddrive.
Name this folder: myst3 This will be the name (Label) of our DVD.
2) Copy all the contents from CD1 to the Temp folder. Rename the ‘data’ folder to ‘dat1’ (without the quotes)

3) From CD2 copy the ‘data2.tag’ and the ‘data’ folder to the Temp folder. Again rename the ‘data’ folder, from CD2, to ‘dat2’ (again without the quotes)

4) From CD3 copy the ‘data3.tag’ and the ‘data’ folder to the Temp folder. Again rename the ‘data’ folder, from CD3, to ‘dat3’ (again without the quotes)

5) From CD4 copy the ‘data4.tag’ and the ‘data’ folder to the Temp folder. Again rename the ‘data’ folder, from CD4, to ‘dat4’ (again without the quotes)

6) Using a Hex Editor, (XVI32 is a free Hex Editor), open the ‘setup.inx’ file and find the string ‘data2.tag’.
Every data file must be renamed dat 1, 2, 3, or 4. (But you must also check the corresponding Tags)
So for Tag 1 you rename it to dat1
Tag 2 becomes dat2
Tag 3 becomes dat3
And tag 4 becomes dat4.

7) Create another folder/s for any Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc.
NOTE: Name this/these folder/s whatever you want.

8) Burn the contents of the Temp folder to a DVD with the Label: myst3

NOTE: During the installation you will be prompted to insert CD1 to CD4. Just press ‘ENTER’ to continue

@albher
Sorry, I had the wrong conversion posted! The one from Farcry was sent to me quite some time ago but I just never got around to posting it?
I have deleted your post to save some confusion.

@Farcry
Let me know if and when you upload the setup.inx? I will add the link to your conversion. You can send it directly to me if you want, you know how.
I will host it at cd-2-dvd until it is available on GCW.

Conversion Fixed

Wanted to do this recently so here's the solution!

Original Poster: Farcry
Post Date: Unknown

6) Using a Hex Editor, (XVI32 is a free Hex Editor), open the ‘setup.inx’ file

Search for EXILE Disc 1\Data and change the word 'data' to 'Dat1' ie.

data.............EXILE Disc 1\Data
to
Dat1.............EXILE Disc 1\Data

data.............EXILE Disc 2\Data
to
Dat2.............EXILE Disc 2\Data

repeat for each Disc etc

You do not need to rename the tags!
You do need to rename the data folders to dat1, dat2, etc

7) Create another folder/s for any Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc.
NOTE: Name this/these folder/s whatever you want.

8) Burn the contents of the Temp folder to a DVD with the Label: myst3

NOTE: During the installation you will be prompted to insert CD1 to CD4. Just press ‘ENTER’ to continue
