The Chronicles of R i d d i c k Escape from Butcher Bay

A CD2DVD Conversion for The Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay is now available from cd-2-dvd.com.

It uses a Custom Installer which was created from scratch, by 'Skeraxe', using Visual Basic.

I have tested this conversion and it works great.

Well done Skeraxe on this much awaited CD2DVD conversion.

I tried this conversion today and had issues with the custom installer which for some reason contained hidden files COMDLG32.OCX MSCOMCTL.OCX and VB6STKIT.Dll. I first created an Iso from the newly created files and tried burning that with ImgBurn and it choked during verify that the folder was larger than the iso that was created. I tried again this time just opening ImgBurn and adding the files as a data dvd and it stopped and removed the three files. This time it passed verification but did not include the files in the final disc. The files have a hidden attribute in their properties I might be able to turn off but why? Why are they included in the custom installer if they're not needed or have the hidden attribute turned on. I know this is not your installer but you may have an answer for me since you claim you tried it and it worked. Should I uncheck the hidden attribute and try again or just leave them out of the disc all together?

@ Appzalien

Keep in mind it was 11 and a half years ago that this conversion was created and posted so I do not remember it too well. What I can say is 'Skeraxe' was and probably still is a very good coder and Installer Creator. I have met him personally and he is a very honest and trustworthy guy.

The Custom Installer was created using Visual Basic 6, the 3 files are Visual Basic files, from memory they are needed for the Installer to work and need to be included on the DVD.
I dont remember having issues with the files, if I did I would have mentioned them in my post.

I burn all games using a cut down version of Nero, I've never had a problem with 'hidden' files not copying over. I use 'UltraISO' to edit ISO files.

I would do what Pakrat has suggested and 'change all attributes, remove read-only & hidden'. This 'should' work.

The only other thing I vaguely remember about this game is 'at the time' it could only be installed by using a Custom made Installer.

Good luck and hopefully you get it sorted.

EDIT: I have located my Converted DVD for this game, Yes I have the 3 files on my DVD and the Properties Attributes are still marked as 'Hidden' and 'Read Only' on the DVD.
