Before asking, read the FAQ; perhaps, you'll find the solution there.,,

stubbs to work
I'm not sure if you got this game working birth slop, but you can do this.....
install the game mount disk 1 unplug rom drive-----------take the ribbon cable from the mobo off! make original exe 2000 compatible this works....where nothing else did... disconnecting my rom drive is no big deal since I have an acrylic tower with removable front plates....but for some...I guess it can be a pain. The important thing was making it compatible for 2000. make sure you do this too. Last edited by Lord Jamez; 08-12-2005 at 06:53. |

Uh, why not just disable the cd-roms in the device manager????
It works oh, just as good, and about 10 times less of a hassle.... |

Almost ruined my pc using StarF***er. I couldn't enable my dvd drives anymore....BUT i could play this game.
After my dvd drives game back (reboot, reboot) I remembered this... Just DT 4, no emulation switches, all DVD-roms enabled, no w2000 compatibility thing... I just did this... Find HKLM\System\MountedDevices and locate the registry key that corresponds with your virtual drive. For example: \DosDevices\F: is mine. Rename this key to anything else such as \DosDevices\F:backup. Make sure that you do not deny any permissions to MountedDevices, otherwise Securom will indicate that a security module couldn't be activated Unfortunately after a reboot this change is gone so re-apply everytime you want to play this game (unless someone knows how to counteract this) Hope this helps? |

Anyone can confirm that Lafleche's "brutal unmounting" trick actually works and is not dangerous to the system either?

I had problems playing this game, it keeps on saying this,
''A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed.'' |

Read the FAQ, this error message is mentioned explicitly there.

All you need is love.... and Daemon Tools
How to install and play Stubbs the Zombie - Rebel without a pulse
1) Install the latest version of Daemon Tools from the official website at http://www.daemon-tools.cc. This may require a reboot before you can use the application. 2) Mount the first image in Daemon Tools and click on "Install" when prompted. 3) Unmount and change the images in Daemon Tools as required, until it has completed the install. 4) Once install is complete, right click on "My Computer" and go to "Manage", then "Device Manager" under "System Tools" 5) Click on "DVD/CD-ROM drives" and once open, right click on any IDE devices you have, and "Disable" the devices. Don't disable the SCSI CdRom Device, as this is used by Daemon Tools 6) Ensure that you only have one device enabled in Daemon Tools, and then mount CD1. 7) Click "Play" |

From SecuROM 7 CDs you can make a good Mountable/Writable CloneImage
WITH Blindwrite (or Alcohol, but USE SECUROM NEW instead of any other SecuROM setting), only CD#1 need to be Backuped/Cloned TO PLAY without your Original Media. Simple MOUNT on DT4 (EMULATION -> ALL OPTIONS ON) USE SFNightmare DISABLE CD (+DISABLE NODE if needed becouse of the latest S7 was IDE priority like Starforce 3-3.4 protections) OR Mount CD#1 in DT4 and use SR7.STOP v1.2 with HIDE function. Maybe SECUROM7 Burner Loader works (that works ONLY on my Laptop), but select STUBBS.EXE from the installed directory. |
