SecuRom 7 Mini Image
hi,
how can i compress a SR7 Image to ~70kb or so? MIR Ripper doesen´t work! and the IsoDir have an error with SR7 Images!! The MIR file dont work after compressing. Can anybody help me?? grtz filestorm

Easy to do with Alcohol 120%, have you tried this program? You can get a trial version for free. note: do 'expert" install, and "rename" your 2 drivers for the virtual drive(s).

Try this:
With Alcohol make a image with the securom profile, and set DPM reading precision to high. Now, once the image is made, open the .mdf in a hex editor, do CTRL+A and fill the entire image with 00's. Now save the file, and use windos compression to compress it too 100kb. Now mount it, get rid of blacklisting, and play.

hi thx for help i have tested the image file with the hex-editor, but the editor has an error with the file?? and the windows compression how i find??
is that right klick - advanced - Compress contents to save disc space??? grtz filestorm

Hi,
The filesize are the same ?? whats the error?? with the Win compress? StarForce not the prob every game are running run also from CD or Image, but the SR7 games Suck, - to created a mini image or maxi!!! - with the Hex are same problem Image has error - plz help me.... to create Mini Image of SR7 game Image... grtz filestorm

If you want mini-images - try it as alternative.
Using NTFS file system make a directory and set its attribute "Compressed". Then put there your image. This method works good with 'void' images (with directory structure and disk info but without data).

I guess the Hex-fill method DIDN'T WORKS to make Maxi-Image, becouse the
Mounter will see the correct file(s) and (some of) the Gap/CRC, so WILL NOT MOUNT and say incorrect Image... I GUESS THE right Method was: IF you are a PROGRAMMER, make a short utility was works the following idea: - read the MDF file (knows the Alcohol image how was building) - GET/READ the file/dir-structure and the files start/end/length ($offsets...) - FILL the FILES ONLY with Hex 00 as the file-structure offsets was (and all the paths/subd-dirs) Think ONLY the best method without any error/corrupt in the Image.
