Newbie
Sorry Guys if this is covered elsewhere but I've searched through the forum looking for a recommended setup to backup DVD's so my grandchildren do not ruin my originals. Plus I need instructions how to do it.
In the first instance I would like to use free software but if I have too, I don't mind paying (but have limited resources). All suggestions will be extremely helpful or recommended guides. Thanks Silver Surfer

DVD Decryptor is free and will remove Macrovision protections, after which you can use CloneDVD 2 to shrink it to fit onto DVD-r.
Also though, many swear by DVD Santa, but I never liked it for some reason.

Even tho you need to pay for the 2 program mentioned in this Guide, they are well worth buying, and I have never had a problem backing up my movies using the mentioned method. I also have 2 boys so I do understand your concerns.
