Exclamation NFS U2 Question

I just installed Need for speed Underground 2

And When I ran it with the PLAY CD inside...

The Rectangular box with the lady...came up and just went away without any error messages and the game didnt start.

And BTW I also downloaded the latest patch from EA games v1.2. and applied it.

And the problem still persists. The splash screen pops - up and then goes away again.

What should I do..

Thank You

P.S This is my first post..Got so many recommendations to this forum.

Hi, if you have a problem with the original CD/DVD, ask the publisher or see the official game support forum - after all, they are the ones you've paid, with your purchase, to help you...

You could also do a 'Search' of the forums as there is a lot of info regarding NFSU 2 on this site. Many people had problems with this game when it was first released! Sound like a graphics driver problem to me, or a sound driver problem? 95% of the time it usually comes down to one or the other.

HINT: Search button is at the top of the page between the words 'New Posts' and 'Quick Links'.
BTW, welcome to Fileforums, be sure to read the forum rules.

Is that the only problem

I have to make sure because when I return the CD back I have to tell them the problem...

God I cant believe this stupid intel card..was the problem...BTW its 64 MB one...

If it is the problem can someone type it out for me because I cant believe it seriously...I need some proof lol

What card do u guys recommend then..must be low cost and it should not only be able to support this release but also the upcoming on NFS: Most wanted

Intel Graphic chip is no card, it's onboard and totally crap

You can try to install new drivers for your intel chipset or buy a geforce 4 ti which should only cost 35€ and is enough for nfsu2.

Lightbulb

I was also thinking about Radeon® X700 Would this be a good buy.

Its cheap with some good specs..

One more thing..If I buy this Graphics card..will it surely solve my problem which I stated in my starting post..

Because believe it or not I am actually gonna by this card or the nVidia one just for this game and its upcoming Predecessor NFS : Most Wanted

So I guess I have short listed these cards..
1)GeForce4 Ti 4800
2)Radeon X700

One more thing remember I have a Intel sh!t thats built in the motherboard so if I install another Graphics card will it create any problems..

There should be no problems with your onboard graphics, cos it can be simply disabled in bios.

Both are quiet good, allthough not the latest.....

Personally, I prefer nvidia cards, as they have less driver problems.
BTW, the X700 is a pci express card, isn't it ? If you decide to get one, make sure you have a pci express slot.

There should be agp versions of the x700. I think x700 is better than geforce 4 Ti

ok

NFSU2 is working on my laptop..

Which has VIA/S3G UniChro IGP Pro

But graphics are something like this

Actual Picture taken from my Laptop

At 640x480 with lowest level of detail...

Will nVidia 4800 TI be able to support res upto 1024x768 with if not highest but high level of detail ?

This is another question that you should ask on the official game support forum, NOT here... <sigh>

if u r getting a x700, get a 6600GT instead. It can keep up with the X800 and sometimes even the Pro. And later, you can buy another (if you have an SLI motherboard) and have two videocards workign together. make sure u get the GDDR3 one tho, as the ram is a lot faster than the regular DDRs.
