Help

Not quite sure if this is the right place to ask this, but the official codejunkies forums are closed, and I don't really know of any other place.

I've recently gotten hold of an Action Replay Max. But it doesn't seem to work as it should, after I've input the codes and everything and I put in the game disc, it just sits there at the "Game loading" screen, not doing anything.
Does anyone know it this is due to a faulty disc, or if it might be due to my modded ps2(Ripper 2 Gold)..

And I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask.
