Rush 2049 Help

I've just bought this game off ebay from GB, but didn't realize that it won't work on my US DC, so I've spent the last day trying BootCDs but none seem to work. I've gotten the CDx and Utopia to get to their screens, but once I put my game in it just goes to the DC menu screen and doesn't boot. SO, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like the game itself may be damaged/scratched, and it's just not loading. Probably a red herring that it comes from the UK.
