gta san andreas and service pack 2 problems
I installed gta san andreas on my system and it installed and started as it should , then later on i added a new hard disk and installed a fresh copy of windows xp with sp1.
after i installed all the driver updates etc i installed service pack 2 for windows xp. i installed all my games again but GTA wont start , it loads a little and then comes back to the windows desktop screen without any message. I have the latest drivers for all of my equipment in the pc , Dont know maybe gta does not run on systems with service pack 2 installed. can u guys help. like i said i installed all the drivers and direct x 9.0c. my specs are as follows. Intel P-4 3.0e HT 2 GB DDR 400 RAM 200gb Sata 80gb Sata 80ga IDE Sony dru-800-a DVD Writer Sony DVD ROM Sony Cd-Writer MSI fx-6800 Ultra 256mb Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Zs Asus Tv Tuner 56k Intel Modem 400w PSU |

I have service pack 2 installed and GTA SA runs fine.

You did things the wrong way.
Install Service Pack 2 first then drivers, as Service Pack 2 when installed will overwrite any current drivers for cards etc |
