chipping my cube

im thinking of chipping my cube because my daughter is scratching the crap out of my discs but how do i backup my software and what media do i backup to plus will my pioneer 107 and 109 back them up ok.

u need high quality media (Ritek G04/5's) Mini or full dvd-r's. you will need PSO+BB adapter and Gamecube ripping server to rip your originals. However, if u mod ur cube with a Viper and flash it with Cobra 1.2 with Gcos plugin, you can backup ur originals that way.

A07/9 will be fine as well.

but then will the mini dvd-rs play in the gamecube itself once its chipped

Yeah, as long as they are high quality. Traxdata G04 mini's are the best. Some plp also have to adjust their laser pot to get their Gc to read discs properly.

i just orderd some ritek g04 will they do the job 8cm: Ritek Printable 8cm 4x DVD-R Piodata

Not tried em, yet you should be okay as long as they are Ritek, as the cube is very picky on the media. Others might work, yet you will get DRE (disc read errors at random points in certain games.

They are UK based and the cheapest i've seen so far for Traxdata Mini's. I have over 100 games using those discs and they work flawless.

The Gcos idea, also works with a Qoob pro ...
