Just downloaded the newly released v1.1 patch for 'Will of Steel' and lo and behold, the patch has NO STARFORCE PROTECTION

What's Fixed:

Will of Steel by Gameyus Interactive - retail v1.1 patch
 
The patch addresses a number of issues found in the campaign
and mission modes of the game.
 
Primarily, the pathfinding issue that has been ecountered by a
number of players has now been resolved as well as some
important tweaks to enemy AI and camera control mechanics.
