NON-BOOT TO SELFBOOT, NEED HELP PLEASE

Yesterday i was trying to make crazy taxi selfboot. When i reached the step that says to copy the ip.bin and 1st_read.bin to the selfboot dir and next hack them i was given a message of error on the 1st_read.bin file the binhack canīt hack my 1st_read.bin file and i donīt no why. I made all right i removed those files from the crazy taxi cd and putted on the selfboot dir according that i already had copy the other files to the data dir except the bin files. I wanna to know which/how file should i hack from the cd (which bin). A strange thing that i notice was that the 1st_read.bin is a file with 1,39 Mb.
I wanna to know also what size of dummy file should i create and if the real rename file is 000dummy.dat cause i donīt find this file in any selfboot game. Thak you very much.

Crazy taxi is easy to make self-boot.

if you haven't downloaded selfboot toolkit 3.5.zip do it off this site. Also I suggest getting selfboothelper.zip of this site too.

Extract all the file to C:\selfboot\

Make sure that you have sub-directories
DATA
CDDA
The reason you have a dummy file is so that the disk will load faster. It is not necessary.

If you have a 74min (650mb) CDR and you put Crazy Taxi on it you will find that the whole game lies on the inner most sectors of the CDR after you burn it. Obviously the more to the outside of a CD the files are stored the quicker the file read as the speed, of the cd, under the laser is higher.

Crazy Taxi is small so I would suggest a dummy file of about 350Mb (check though that the total file size of the game + dummy file is below 640mb).

Just call a dummy file something like 000dummy.dat so that is the first file written on the disk.

Run selfboothelper.exe from c:\selfboot (not shortcut)

1. copy the files

2. add a dummy if required

3. put in your burners address e.g. 0,4,0
(check in your windows configuration for address)

4. Gor for it the Burns the CD self booting.

EASY
