Cool Freezing and pixalating

I have a Emprex dual layer DVD burner.

I use Anydvd, dvd shrink and dvd decrypter.

I have not got a problem copying movies but when I come to play them back
after about 20 to 30 minutes they start to pixallate then freeze up.

Would be gratefull for any help or advice.

I have tried Datawrite yellow 8 x dvd-R

Any recomendations???

Changed media to Verbatim 8x dvd+r

used Anydvd & Clonedvd2

Got a great copy no freezing or stalling.....

Thanks everyone.

Sounds like a media issue. Have you tried burning with different brands?

What you can do to find out definitively is to have CloneDVD2 save to folders. That saves all the dvd info to a couple of folders on your pc.

Then burn the movie in a data burn and watch it on your standalone player. When you see pixelation or freezing. Stop the player go to your pc and open up a pc based dvd player. Use it to play the folders youve made (most pc based players will allow folder playing). Skip to the same spot you were having troubles with on your standalone and see if there is pixelation or freezing.

If there is none, then that means its more than likely the media your using to write your movies on.

Tyler!

As I said in previous thread to this one, burn at 4x to stop any jumping, holdups etc.

Even better if you do 2x, but I dont think you would be patient enough :P

Hmm I leave everything running when i do a burn, I even surf the net, and often open and close other programs whilst burning! But I only ever burn movies at 4x never any faster! I also use AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 but I also save the files to folders (just like Tyler mentioned above) and when CloneDVD2 asks to swap the disk for a blank disk, I cancel out of CloneDVD2 and do the actual writing with Nero. I used to have the occaisonal problem with playback when I used CloneDVD to write. But since I changed to the method I now use I have never had a playback problem! And all this whilst I continue to use my system whilst reading and writing the movie!
