transferring mp3 files between external hard drives

I am having trouble transferring and copying my mp3 files between two external hard drives. I can copy some but not all. None are protected or gotten from Itunes or have copy protection that I am aware of. This is just for use on my computer.

that's not a lot of info....

maybe some basic things first:
do you have enough space on both drives?
did you try it with another PC?
is your pet rat nibbling the USB/firewire cords during the copying process?

they are two 250 gb ext hard drives connected by firewire and I was able to transfer 20 gb of mp3 but it wont do the rest. Large collection of mp3 ie greater than 150 gb of mp3. I have not tried it on another pc. .I can't transfer even one mp3 file from the rest of the collection. So it doesnt seem to be size related.

hmm, is the data corrupted maybe? try to use some checktool to extract the file like CDCheck. Or check the SMART status of the HD (lots of tools for that)
You could do a scan from windows but that takes ages wit 250Gb

if that still doesn't work try another PC, computers are as weird as women in their behaviour sometimes (women win hands down of course).
and if even that doesn't work then I'm lost, format it or so and pray that you have a backup and send it back for repairs...

tried another computer

I tried another pc without success. The mp3s play just fine without evidence of corruption, but where should I get the program to check the files. It does seem unlikely that all 30,000 files are corrupted.
