its a dual layer disk, so you can use a dual layer dvd-r to back it up.
or copy it to hard drive if you have a hard drive big enough

i have seen a ripped version, but yeh you're right, there's nothing obvious to take out, the ripped one i saw just had loads of sounds missing so you had to use subtitles and it wasn't very good

i managed to do it with the PAL version, may be different if you have the NTSC version.
for me this removed about 400 or 500mb and made the game just 4.02gb:

in the \Res\Sounds folder you can delete any files named *ge.xwb
these are german sound files, you obviously won't need these if you are english speaking (or vice versa, you could delete *en.xwb to get rid of the english if german is your first language)

this way you don't lose anything at all, unlike the other method posted on here which involved replacing sound files with dummy files and thus losing the speech and requiring subtitles to play

As reddragon says this game is easily stripped if you have the PAL version. And you can remove more than just the german stuff, I think there is french on it too.

If you're on NTSC it might be some languages like spanish (mexico) and in some cases french (canada) that you can strip away.
Take a look in the sounds and movies folders and you will spot some files named ge, es, fr and those you can remove.
