GTR racing/Starf***/nightmare help!

hi, can't get GTR to work, tried everything suggested in these forums, I think my problem is starforce nightmare. when i press 'disable cd' or any button at all, the application just closes. Is it suppose to do that? And all my drives are still enabled after i've pressed the buttons to disable them. I'm running win2000, is that a problem?

Can anyone get it working with starf*** 0.83 instead and tell me how?
