Well, I was in kind of the same situation. I have an european DC and wanted to play CODE VERONICA and Virtua Tennis which I got as an NTSC Version in the US.

If you will boot up your NTSC Game in a PAL DC it will not boot up.
Solution : Get the Utopia Boot CD and start it. Then switch the NTSC Game in your DC. It should work fine.

You should check if you TV maybe supports NTSC by itself. My Sony TV supports PAL as well as NTSC.

If you get a grey screen when you are playing you will need a scart cable. Here in Germany you get it in almost every gamestore.
The Price here is about 25 US $!

A friend of put a mod chip in his DC to play Pal and Ntsc games on it. The Utopia CD is better!

I hope I could help a little bit!
