CDI images with CDDA _never_ burn right! Why? (Please read)
I just don't get it. I have burned a dozen CDI games successfully,
as well as plenty of older non-CDI games. But in the cases of Guilty Gear X and Bust-A-Move 4, the two games I tried which had audio tracks, things have gone wrong. I use an Athlon 1000, a super fast IDE drive (the fastest on the market, I am told; it's not my PC), 256 megs of ram, nothing running in the background, no screenblanker. DiscJuggler (3.00.750) recognizes the file and burns it. Nero recognizes the file converted to .NGR, and burns it. Yes, I did remember to unpack and inject the audio for Guilty Gear X. I have burned the games at 1x speed, and utilized several option combinations in DiscJuggler's Advanced tab, including the default and "Papa's" recommended settings (Mode1, 2336, CD-ROM, 0 offset). The results are totally identical, regardless of how I ultimately burn the images. Here is what happens: Guilty Gear X: The intro animation plays music, but it does not flow with the onscreen action, especially the title, and gets cut off quite abruptly when the game moves on from the title screen. This leads me to suspect the game is playing the wrong track. During the various selection screens, it plays music.. I have no way of knowing if it plays the correct music. Finally, whenever it gets to a point where it's time to load up the graphical data for fights, the DC gets stuck in a loading loop, easily identifiable by the repetition of specific drive sounds. It does not recover. Bust-A-Move 4: Every bit of music the game plays sounds misplaced and tends to cut off abruptly. In fact, four out of five of the bits of music were in fact the same five-second audio clip, as though the game was getting confused and resorting to some default track. Otherwise the game plays fine, at least insofar as I was willing to play the game in its crippled state. So basically, the problem seems to be that the audio tracks are being written in a fashion that places them out of order, or out of sync, or something similar. The cause of this problem is totally unknown. But I can tell you what it is not: It's not a problem with the rip. It's not a problem with the image files (fully tested archives, never mind the overwhelming odds against my having problems with only the CDDA games). It's not a problem with my system, particularly in regards to hypothetical performance inadequacy. It's not a problem with DiscJuggler or Nero; they burn other images perfectly. It's not a problem with unpack.exe or inject.exe; Bust-A-Move 4 did not require the use of those executables and it suffers from the same issues as Guilty Gear X. You're probably thinking: It's your CDR drive. Possibly, but can you be more specific? I use a Mitsubishi (Panasonic) CW-7582. The exact specifications of this drive can be found here: http://www.panasonic.com/industrial_oem/computer/storage/cd-r/prods/current/7502.htm It has no problem whatsoever burning images which include self-boot information, and I even burned my boot disc with it. It has 1Mb of buffer ram so some people are probably tempted to suggest that this inadequacy is the cause of my problems. To those people, I feel the need to stress a couple of facts: First, I am burning at 1x speed. Second, my friends own - and I have used - CDR drives that are far more outdated and have (I think) NO buffer ram, and they can burn these images fine. Third, if it WERE an issue with buffer ram, then wouldn't the results be somewhat random, rather than persistently malfunctioning in the same exact fashion every time? I suppose I'm hoping someone has an idea what could cause the CDDA audio to be there (at all) but in the scrambled rendition I have gotten a dozen times now. Remember, it's not a random mishap; the results are identical every single time. Many, many thanks in advance! |

(*Cough* Sorry, that should be "Matsushita", not "Mitsubishi". Been up 24 hours.)

Hi!.....ok....try to extract all tracks audio and data game from the .cdi image with isobuster and then use the Echelon method for cdda...it will work! To explain you how to use the echelon method is too long and i can t do that here! Download the e-selfbt.zip file with echelon instructions from dccopyworld site!
Good luck! P.S. People over-complicate things |

Okay. Looking over the Echelon Tutorial, which was written for people who have 1) the game in its non-self-boot format, and 2) a SCSI CDR drive, I was able to figure out what I thought would be the correct steps to take if a person had only the .CDI file and an IDE CDR drive. Here is what I did with Guilty Gear X:
1) To the original CDI file, I first unpacked & injected it, so it would have the correct audio tracks. 2) I used CDIRip to convert the game into 24 WAV files and one ISO (labelled as track 25). 3) As per the Tutorial, I first burned the 24 WAV files to a cdr with CDRWin, making sure to designate it as multisession. 4) I then burned the ISO file to the same cdr, making sure to use Mode2, CD-ROM-XA, etc., as per the instructions given in the Tutorial. According to the Tutorial, that was the final step, and everything was all set. The results: The disc was not-self boot. The disc would not boot after loading the boot disc. The disc was a coaster. My original attempts at burning Guilty Gear X, which involved simple variations on burning the actual CDI file, at least came up with something that would load, even though the music was scrambled and it eventually locked up. This was a complete failure. Did I skip a step? I don't think so. Maybe you know better. Anyone? |

Bumping your post up will not get you a reply. There are only a few people left in here
that will answer your question. Everyone else left when the lamer flood hit. So if your question has not yet been answered then it will not be. Try that bumping shit sjomewhere else.

Use your brain, friend. Messages don't stay on the front page(s) for long. Not everyone bothers to scan more than the first page, usually. Perhaps you were thinking I was going to keep this on the front page until someone replied. Sorry.. I am fully aware that my question is not as simple as "can I copy a rented game" and eventually nobody else will be able to tell me anything of use. It is refreshing, however, to note that this forum does in fact have a ratio of helpful people to, well, people like yourself. |

Try perhaps using Discjuggler 2.0 instead of 3.0

if your are using nero 5.0.3.5 and diskjuggler 3.0 on your PC,this can cause errors on diskjuggler 3.0.Norton windoctor can fix this problem.
