Stutter on DVD Burn

Newbie here
I just built a nice system
AV8 3rdeye 939 motherboard
AMD 3500+
1 gig duel channel infineon mem
120 gig sata drive
asus dvd player
sony dru710a dvd burner ( here lies my problem Maybe)
Every time I try to burn a dvd with backed up good video files or games I get stutter and mis matched sound.
Now here is the weird part even when I have done a backup with my new system using DVD shrink or nero the same problem happens ( using just the dvd drive) Old file play fine that were from an old hard drive ATA 80gig WD on a swap box. If I copy the files over from that drive to my new sata it plays fine if I then try and burn it to a DVD it stutters. also if I now try and use dvd shrink on a non copy prot dvd disc to the hard drive and play from the hard drive it stutters Please any help at all will be greatly apprciated
I also have the sony dvd burner set as slave which I have to change, But that should not stop the video from working on my hard drive.

try burning the disks at a slower speed

also, try a different type of disk
