I too need help with this. I have tried 2 different programs already including virtual dub. Problem with virtual dub is that it said my bitrate for my audio was not right, so it wouldn't let me continue. Then the other program i used wanted to load my avi, and reencode it to avi and made the file bigger. I need to just trim the a couple of minutes and it will all fit on a dvd. Thanks.

AVI Splitter
There are two little programs that go really well together and can be found just about anywhere(P2P); AVI Splitter and AVI Joiner. Real simple to use. Just select where you want to split it, you can cut it up into heaps of little bits if you want,. It'll save the file into the seperate avi's and then you just delete the avi you don't want which would be the few minutes at the start and finish.
