does anyone know how to get the Half Life 2 music files or soundtrack?

if you have hl2:

../hl2/sound/music/

all the music-files are in mp3.

Im not finding this at all... Ive looked at every folder in my valve dir.

they are there! go to your half-life 2 dir and browse like stated above. there are about 48 mp3-files with the music. or even easier: use the search-funktion of windows.....

Umm...what version of HL2 are YOU guys running?

There are no .mp3 files anywhere in any of my HL2 folders.

ive got the steam-version.....can it be, that the retail-version has no mp3s at all?

Wouldnt surprise me if HL2 Steam came with MP3s. Half Life Steam (not to be confused with Source) was exactly the same. The MP3s were downsampled terribly, the audio was awful.
