Unhappy copying pc games

I could use a little help here. I bought the Sims 2 PC game. I'm trying to copy the discs as I have little children that don't take care of them very well & I'm tired of re-buying the games. I've copied all the discs, but when I go to play it says that the drive does not recognize the cd-rom. What do I do?
