The Real Gilligan's Island

I would be interested to hear from any American's to hear what they thought of 'The Real Gilligan's Island' reality TV show. I believe its meant to start on November the 30th. How does it work? Do the contestants have to resemble the original cast? Do they all stay on the island indefinately or do they get voted off? Sounds like it could be a good laugh! Unfortunatly in Australia we wont get to see it unless it is a huge hit in America! And even then we probably wont see till late 2005! Thats just how it works here! After all we only got the last 'Friends' episode last Monday!

Well its the latest "reality" type show going on. From what Ive heard the people dont have to resemble the original cast but they do have to be the same proffession. For example, a real proffessor, a real actress, a real skipper, and first mate... and so on. I dont think the "Billionaires" actually have to have a billion $ though.

So its somethin like that.

Ehh, I only watched like 5 min of it. Its got 2 sets of characters from the show. 2 gilligans 2 gingers and so on. 1 group competes against the other.

The movie star on one of the groups is Rod Stuwarts ex wife. Other than that I got board of it rather quickly.

Thanks for that guys, I didnt realize there would be two teams! So does one team or one charactor get voted off each week? Is it that sort of show.

They have challenges.. Team vs. Team (I'm hearing this from my brother who somehow turned into a dork and watches it, but in his defense it has Nicole Eggert and Rachel Hunter in it).. Anyway the team that loses has to get rid of a castaway.. From what he tells me this is the rundown of it so far.

First off one of the Skippers almost died during one of the competitions.. He was too old and i'm guessing overweight and he just couldn't do it.. He collapsed twice during it before they called air rescue and took him off the island.. he came back later saying his health was too bad to go on. So that takes care of Skipper.. The other dude (who wasn't as cool) wins by default.

Next I think it was the professor.. Some old guy and some young gay guy who Tyler Durden mentioned was kind of cute.. Anyway getting back to it I guess the gay guys team lost the challenge and he was gone..

Next up was Mary-Ann.. The hotter of the two stayed.. but they were both kinda hot..

Next up is Ginger.. Its between Rachel Hunter (Stacey's mom video whore) and Nicole Eggert from Charles in charge and Baywatch.. I think Nicole is starting to get sick and really thin.. They're starving on the island and there isn't much to eat. Also the other team has been winning all the challenges and rewards (food) so that leaves them hungry as a mofo.. This is the next show that has not been aired yet.

Of course last to go.. in a couple weeks will be Gilligan..
One guy is a total Goober.. A complete dork and I guess is the closest thing to the real Gilligan as it gets.. The other Gilligan isn't bad looking (again that's what Tyler said at least) and apparently he's a pimp.. He was hooking up with the Mary-Ann that got to stay on the island.. So that should be an interesting show not that i'll watch it..

Thanks for all that. The show sounded so promising to but I guess by the sounds of what you wrote it may not last long enough to even make it to Australia! I dont usually like the reality shows but this one sounded like it could be different. I actually thought it may be more of a comedy than a reality show.

Did you see all the threads in the PC games section about the Mods and Admins being gay? I must say Ive always found the Mods to be always happy and cheerful too! But maybe they were referring to you? (Just teasin)

Oh ok, some idiot had started about 30 threads all saying the same thing! They said "all the Admins and Mods were gay" Obviously someone had a gripe as I dont think he meant you guys were cheerful.
