Please HELP, can not copy PS2 games!

Hi, I am new to PS2 copying. I can successfully copy those which can be done on a cd with clone cd, however, I can not get one on a dvd to work. I have tried using Nero 6 (Nero Express) making a data disc, but when put into my playstation it says to insert PS2 disc. I tried all my dvd burning programs e.g. clone dvd, shrink and nero recode but none of them can read the game files. I have a Pioneer DVD-RW, I think an A06. I have been trying on DVD-RW because I am wasting so many discs.
Also, is there a way to know that a game will need a crack before you copy it or do you have to waste a disc first? What is the best site and method to go about getting cracks?

The programs you are trying are for Movies. You need a modchip too before you can boot the games up. Read the Ultimate Info Sticky at the top of the page (PS - try using the search button, this has been aswered so many times it is untrue)

My playstation is chipped. I was told that Nero 6 works but for some reason it isn't working for me. Amazingly I do have a brain and I did do a search and I have read other people's advise but I am still having problems. Of all the stuff I have read, I could not find an answer to my questions that I could understand, hence why I posted my own question!
Now is there anyone who can answer my questions regarding Nero 6, or how I can get another program that I don't have to pay for and about knowing when a game needs a crack and where to get them from?

Seeing as you have a brain and you did a search maybe you can answer a few questions . What modchip do you have?? What version PS2. What dvd-r media are you using?? Nero burning rom will make a dvd backup by selecting DVD then select copy disc. I have used nero myself, i know it works. What game are you trying to backup?? Unless its from a different region it doesnt need to be patched or cracked. At least i have never seen a dvd game that had copy protection. You also may want to try dvd decrypter which is free or purchase Recordnow DX. For the price of one game its well worth it.

I can vouche for Record Now Deluxe being worth every penny.. Excellent software... I've used Nero 6 for backups also and thats also seemed to work fine.. Are you making an ISO on your system and then burning that?.. You're not trying to do an on the fly burn are you?

The Modchip that I have is the Mars 2 Modchip. I am not certain about the version of PS2, I have only had it max 18 months. I am using Princo DVD-R. I have tried to copy The Getaway and Ratchet & Clank. I really appreciate you actually trying to help me. I read a lot of people's questions and their answers but, although I know a little, I don't understand all computer talk so nothing made sense to me. That's why I wanted to try and get answers in my own words, I don't understand why people have to be so rude!

Try using better dvd-r media. Princo sux ritek and taiyo yuden are the best. Someone also reported Office depot dvd-r's are made using the ritec g04 dye. You may want to check these out also.
