playstation 2 won't read disc
my playstation 2 won't read any of my discs and i was wondering if its toast or if it is fixable. the disc spins but is not being read. if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this problem it would be much appreciated thank you

Sounds like a laser problem. It can be fixed fairly easily, and I suppose cheaply if you look on eBay

My brother is having the same problem with his PS2.
He put in need for speed carbon, which he has played on many a time with no problem, ad it said the disc was unreadable, so he claned it and put it back in and it came up with the same message. next he tried another disc, which he had been playing previously, so he knew it worked and it came up wit hthe same thing. all the discs we ahve tried are the same. This is a new-ish PS2, with all that swap magic stuff put in, so mum won't be happy when she finds out. any ideas?? :S:S I Don't hav a clue what a modchip is :S:S LOL So no iformation there :S LOVEAGE
