Is auto Cd/DVD duplication system worth it?

I have been manually copying my CD/DVD jobs for a while. It was tedious and cumbersome. For those of you that make a lot CD/DVD copies you know what I am talking about. It wasn't until a friend of mine introduced me to this automated recording device called Apuz-EZ Plus by Acronova Technology. When I got the machine the small footprint surprised me. I guess the pic didn't do them justice.

Minutes after unloading it from the box, I was able to get it to run a job for me. I simply load up the blanks and source disc and press one button. I left the unit on for 5 hours when I came back and the batch job was done. The Apuz has an error detection mechanism that automatically dispenses the bad copies into a reject bin. I don't have to worry and wonder which is a good copy and which is not. Every thing is sorted for me.

I guess you have to work smarter not harder. I am no genius but this baby is saving me money, time and manpower.

For those of you who do a lot of copies give this baby a shot.

I remeber a previous member having some trouble with one of these they bought from Wal-mart and it wont work half the time. Let us know how it goes for you. I am interested in one of these myself but have been holding off on getting one. After you get say 10 or 20 successful burns, maybe you can post a review back here and let us know how well it does.

Actually reads like a salesman's propoganda to me.
In any case duplication of this sort would surely be 'pirating' and frowned upon here.

The salesman responce is why I have been so reluctant to buy one. As for the piracy statement, I disagree with that simply because it is just another form to backup your already owned original. I believe as long as the privilege is still legal (depending where you live) to backup cd/dvd you own, there is nothing wrong with the method you use in which to do so. I also believe that if backing up an original was that easy to just buy one of these standalone easy methods, everyone here would already have one. This is why I said to post the reviews. Its good to keep an open mind but its even better to use that same mind openly. I make decisions based on facts vs theory. In theory this would be an awesome development, however there are not enough facts to support a decision to buy one at this point.

Well since we dont know what he's been duplicating we cant say its illegal. I did all my normal checks and he doesnt exactly show all the tell tale signs of a salesman. Although his only 2 posts do seem that way. Ill keep my eye on him though.

No offence intended MasterProduction, but this does sound a bit on the shady side. Are you making your own homemade movies or something? If so, there is no protections to be concerned of and therefore does not really apply to the type of backup review I was thinking of. I can see why the piracy statement might have been made.

EDIT: Try backing up a newer DVD movie or game you own and post your results on that type of backup. I think you will find out why we have not considered this type of method as of yet.

None taken. I don't support nor condemn illegal copies. For a self-employed person like me who makes money from making wedding video\photo copies for people, it works for me.

I must strongly disagree here!
One copy may be legal BUT to use a device with a 100 Discs Capacity is an absolutely ludicrous tool if you intend to keep to the ONE LEGAL copy rule.

A tool such as this, discussed in these forums, can only be regarded as an adjunct to out-and-out piracy.

In any case we all know that these things have buckley's chance of copying anything that is protected.

Precisely my point! No need to worry there m8. I strongly agree with all of these piracy concerns but it is the responsiblity of the end user and at their own risk to indulge in such matters. If the laws are not abused then the method used does not matter. 100 copies at once is indeed piracy if it is copyrighted material. I dont disagree there at all. See the reason I have not bothered to buy one is cause I dont believe it would work for backing up a protected original. I was thinking of one that does 1 : 1 with the ease of one button. No company would allow this type of recorder to hit the market. Indeed piracy would then be imposible to control. It was an area of interest only cause such a device would be whole lot simpler than the current methods used.
