CPU Processor Upgrade

Hi Friends,

I am having a celeron 400 cpu which now i want to upgrade with more processing speed. So what i wanted to know is that can i upgrade only the processor with a new one or do i need to change the entire system. And can get to buy only the processor from the shop.Can anybody help me with this upgrade issue. Can anybody tell me any suggestions as how to do it.

Your motherboard can only take a max processor speed and since urs seems to be rather old ur better off upgrading to a totally new system.

Cool CPU upgrade

Upgrading to a more powerful CPU usually means a new motherboard, RAM, and rebuilding the system from the start. That means entering your BIOS and setting values for everything. You should only attempt this if you know what you are doing! My advice to you would be to research the subject thoroughly before proceeding. Try this site:http://www.amd.com/us-en/
