The Sims 2 'Emulation Found' Error

Ok, I wanted to post to HELP everyone else out. I have been trying to get the Sims 2 working for hours and hours and finally I found of the reasons why upon starting the game at the splash screen I received the error about, "Emulation found, please disable all emulation and restart the game."

This error will occur when the software ConeCD is installed! If you UNINSTALL CloneCD fully you should have no problems playing the game.

Why EA did this, is beyond me. I purchased the game, but because I had CloneCD I was unaware why I couldn’t play it. This is a very stupid move on ea’s part if you ask me. I mean, to the average user who encounters this error, they will have no idea how to fix it and end up getting pissed and returning their game. Anyway, there you all go, I hope I helped some of you stuck out there.

Hmm, interesting. Do you know whether or not the same problem occurs with other virtual CD programs like Alcohol or Daemon Tools?

Its not a problem with Daemon Tools....

EA is so stupid.... It wont stop anything....

All u have to do is copy the cd's then uninstall CloneCD to play...How dumb.

Its not a problem with Alcohol. The play runs problem-free.

Only CloneCD (Option: Hide CD-R) switch off.
