Quick question about ps1/psx patches
What do patches exactly do?
I have a psx/ps1 iso. I also have a psx/ps1 cue & bin file. In order for me to play these two game files on my ps1-- 'small system' do I have to patch these games up? Is it possible to patch an iso? Will patching these two game files, then burning them allow me to play the game on my ps1 console? Please help me with some information or experience you have.

Is that all?
Do i need to install a modchip on my PS1, in order to play the backup on my console? I am trying to avoid modding my PS1. Will patching the backup remove copy protection, or bypass the playstation copy protection check?

You will need a modchip or at least a PS-X-Change disc or other device to allow the play of backup games.
